The term trunk circuit have different meanings when they used in different conditions.Here I am going to tell you what this term has its importance in Telephone companies.Telephone companies use this term to refer to large-capacity circuits that form the main interconnect of the telephone network (e.g between cities).Cable television companies use the term refer to the high capacity co-axial cables and used to connect the cable company and neighborhood concentration points,a trunk circuit can be up to 15 miles long.
