Static RAM
Static RAM also known as SRAM uses a memory cell for its working. It uses flip-flops to store the bits. Each bit bus requires about six transistors. This type of RAM is called Static RAM because it will hod data as along as power is supplied.Static RAM is typically used for high performance parts of a system. The most common example of Static RAM is Cache Memory.
