Switched Virtual Circuits

Let suppose a computer is connected to another computer through connection oriented network.An SVC(Switched Virtual Circuits) is virtual because it is achieved by placing routes in routing tables,not by establishing physical wires.An SVC is switched because it can be created on demand analogous to telephone call.ATM expands the acronym to Switched Virtual Channel.
