So many passwords to remember these days... ooofff !!!!!Many a times it so happens that you enter a wrong password consecutively 5 times at the HDFC bank Netbanking site & your account gets locked. Now you have 2 problems - your NetBanking access locked out & also that you have forgotten your password. The Banks standard procedure calls for filling an application form at the Branch to re-enable your account & also re-generate a new password.I have discovered a simple workaround with which you use the power of Net to both re-enable your account & re-generate a new password.(My site statistics show that this is one of my most successful posts in my Blog.

I would feel nice if you could comment on this post after successfully unlocking your HDFC Bank NetBanking Account. This would inspire me to write more.)The procedure is as follows

1. ) Visit https://www.hdfcbank.com/applications/webforms/customersupport/mainfrm.htm &

2. ) Select the Radio Button "I am a customer of the bank and have a query / Clarification on a transaction / Product".

3. ) Now under the section "What is the query about?" section select "Assistance with NetBanking Service".

4. ) Now under the section "Kindly classify your request:" select "Access Denied - Enable access to NetBanking" & then click on submit.

5.)In the following screen fill up all your details - Customer ID, First Name, Last Name, E-mail ID. Now comes the most important trick - select the check box "Yes I remember my IPIN and just need re-activation of the same.".

6.)Though this may sound funny, since you don't remeber your IPIN (NetBanking Password), but do this as suggested by me. And then click submit. After almost 24 hours visit the NetBanking page & under the "Whats New" section on the right hand side, click on the link for "Forgot Your IPIN (password), click here to generate instantly".

Now just follow the steps & re-generate a new IPIN.Simple... isn't it ? So never ever worry again if you have a locked HDFC Bank NetBanking account & have forgotten your password :)

World's largest chip maker Intel Corporation has developed microprocessors to power modular and scalable servers for cloud computing - that enables use of multiple servers as a single platform - by data centres and infrastructure management service providers, a senior official said Friday.

"As part of our second generation multi-core Xeon processors, we have designed and developed chips that can be used for servers by cloud computing providers and builders to offer high performance and energy efficient solutions to end-customers with security, scalable storage capacity," Intel marketing programme manager Nick Knupffer told reporters here.

As the next wave of technology revolution, cloud computing enables use of multiple servers as a single platform through a digital network (website) under secured environment with access to a range of applications and tools for reducing the cost of IT operations.

"Our Xeon processor-based servers can be deployed by data centres and enterprises offering infrastructure management services to end-customers across verticals, especially small and medium businesses (SMBs) which cannot afford to invest in capital intensive IT infrastructure and hire personnel to run it," Intel South Asia director R. Ravichandran said.

According to global market research and analysis firm IDC ( International Data Corporation )), an estimated 2.5 billion people with over 15 billion devices will access the internet by 2015. The same year, the internet traffic is expected to reach a zettabyte or one million, million billion bytes.

"Under our multi-year vision for cloud computing (Cloud 2015), cloud data centres will be seamlessly and securely connected and fully automated. The centres will also provide secure access and optimal experience across a range of devices from smartphones to powerful notebooks," Knupffer pointed out.

With about 70 per cent of chief information officers (CIOs) concerned about cloud security, Intel is working on providing trusted execution technology (TXT) to enhance security at the processor level by ensuring a server is not tampered with at the hypervisor level.

The $44-billion Intel acquired global security solutions provider McAfee in August 2010 for $7.7 billion to enhance security of its processors by embedding the features in the chips.

Good news for Google Apps users: your pleas to get access to Google+, the search titan's latest foray into social networking, have been heard.

In a public-facing note on the service yesterday, Google's president of enterprise, Dave Girouard, said that the company is working to make Google+ available to Google Apps users. Google Apps is Google's customizable version of the company's various productivity services including Gmail, Calendar, Talk, Docs and Groups.

"Sorry for the delay," Girouard wrote. "We need to do it right!"

About 1,500 institutions across the country will now be connected to a high speed data communication network that would encourage sharing of knowledge, specialised resources and collaborative research.The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, today accorded in principle approval for the establishment of a National Knowledge Network (NKN), which will be implemented by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

"The network will consist of an ultra-high speed core which shall be complemented with a distribution layer at appropriate speeds. The participating institutions can connect to the NKN at speeds of 1 GBPS or more to the distribution layer through a last mile connectivity bandwidth," an official spokesperson said.One of the recommendations of the National Knowledge Commission (NKC) to inter-connect all knowledge institutions, the NKN is expected to be completed in two years time.
The government in 2008 had announced that it would set up such a network. An initial amount of Rs 100 crore was also allocated to the Department of IT in the Ministry of Communications and IT for the establishment of the NKN.
